The deposit slip that never gets lost
Pantelapper, the deposit slips from Norwegian reverse vending machines, have a way of disappearing. Mine ended up in coat pockets, at the bottom of shopping bags, or at home when I was actually standing in the store. Pantelapp fixes that: scan the slip with the camera and the barcode stays safe on your phone until you need it.
Scanning reads the barcode, the amount, and the store automatically. At checkout you show the barcode straight from the phone, at full screen brightness, and mark the slip as used once you have the money. The person who returns the bottles is not always the person who shops, so any slip can be shared: send the barcode to whoever is going to the store and they can use it there.
Active slips can be added to Apple Wallet and shown from the lock screen, and a Home Screen widget shows the outstanding amount and the number of active slips. Optional reminders speak up if you leave the store with an unused slip, or when a slip has been sitting for 30 days. The app also warns if you scan a barcode that is already saved, and the statistics screen shows how much you have returned, per store and over time.
There is no account and no cloud storage; the slips live on your phone. Only when you add a slip to Apple Wallet is that one slip sent encrypted to the service that signs the pass. The app is in Norwegian and made for Norwegian deposit slips, so it works in stores like REMA 1000, KIWI, Extra, Obs, Meny, and Bunnpris.
